Music by The Piano Brothers

As a Youth/Adult

Andre Lanette Hayes was born to Harold and Gloria Willis in Watonga, Oklahoma.  She was the eldest daughter and has three sisters-Pamela Denise Richey(Dwain), Vicky Lynn Richey(Dwight), Gina Lucille Redwine(Ian) and is preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn Lawayne Willis & Harold Glenn Willis, Jr.  Andre graduated from Watonga High School in 1984.  She was actively involved in all sports, a cheerleader, and held several leadership roles while in school.  She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age at Union Baptist Church in Watonga and was actively involved in the teen choir, teen usher team, and anything that she was asked to be a part.  Andre loved the Lord and did not mind dedicating her time and service in any way she could.  She later joined the Rock of Restoration Church and served in the bus ministry, Children’s Church, as well as the Single Mothers Ministry.  Andre’s passion was praising and worshipping the Lord.  She increased her faith by studying God’s word daily.  Andre was a long time employee at the USDA office in Watonga, OK and was very dedicated to her job.  Andre always did everything with a spirit of excellence.

As a Wife

On October 05, 1989, Andre married the love of her life Donnell Hayes, Jr. from El Reno, Oklahoma.  They were an inseparable couple.  If you went to a gathering and saw one of them, the other person was not far away.

Andre was very dedicated to the well-being of her husband.  They both loved dancing and would be the first and last ones on the dance floor. They also enjoyed going on date nights and to the movies. She was truly a Proverbs 31 women-“Her husband had full confidence in her and lacked nothing of value.  She bought him good, not harm, all of the days of her life.”

As a Mother/Grandmother

Andre was blessed with five wonderful children-Andrea, Donnell(Dee/Rikki), Raychelle, Donnell Jr. II, and Dranelle.  Proverbs 31:28 states that “Her children arise and call her blessed”. Her children were dear to her and she would do anything for them.  She also had an influence in her godchildren’s life, Tionna Burton and Tamika Hartfield.  She was a very creative person and made her kids some sort of craft for every holiday, birthday, and special occasion.  She taught them to always be thoughtful and considerate of others.  She attended and was supportive of anything her kids were a part.  She has four grandchildren-Darius, Jahzara, Braylon, and Donnell, Jr.  She loved her grandchildren and would do anything for them as well.  She kept a picture of them with her on her IPad. To them she was “Nana”.  She taught them all the importance of serving and honoring the Lord in all areas of their lives.

As a Daughter/Sister/Aunt

Andre was the eldest daughter to Harold & Gloria.  She was very dedicated to helping her parents and you would find her decorating their house on every occasion.  Her and her sisters were often referred to as the group, “Sister Sledge”, four sisters bonded together for life.  They always did everything together, with just them and/or their families.  She loved her sisters and would do anything for them.  She was a dedicated Aunt and would take each one of them out for a day with her on their birthdays.  They always looked forward to it, as they did not know what was in store for them on that day.  She had a total of eleven nieces and nephews and one great nephew & niece.

Andre was a very loving, caring, and thoughtful person.  She touched the lives of many people and her legacy will never be forgotten.  She was very strong and an awesome women of faith.  In any situation she faced, she never complained or murmured about anything.  She taught us to find the good in every situation and always be grateful in every season of your life.  She will be missed and loved for the days, months, and years to come.  We were all honored to call her our sister, aunt, daughter, friend, cousin and mother.

We, the family of Andre’ Hayes, are grateful and appreciative for all you have done to help share in our grief.  Your phone calls, food, flowers, cards, and your words of encouragement will always be remembered.  Your love and support has helped us through our hour of bereavement.  Words could never express our forever gratitude for all that you have done for our family.  May God’s blessings be yours forevermore.

To Harold and Gloria, I am so sorry for your loss. I am praying for the family to have strength to get through this difficult time. Gina, Pamela and Vicky I know that you are hurting. It is not going to be easy but at least you know that there is another Angel in Heaven. Even though I am miles away, I will be there in sprit. I just want you to know that I love you and will definitely be praying for each and everyone of you tomorrow. Hope to see everyone next summer.
